Success at the 2016 Town Foundation Ladies Lunch

Earlier this year we announced that we had teamed up with the Town Foundation to sponsor their annual Ladies Lunch.

After weeks of planning (for both the event and our outfits), we were more than excited to attend the 4th Town Foundation Ladies Lunch at John Smiths Stadium last Friday.

We joined over 160 lovely ladies for a day of bubbles, entertainment and of course, to raise money for an extremely worthy cause.

We were greeted with a glass of fizz on arrival (it’s never too early to pop the prosecco!) by a VERY unique welcoming committee…

The morning was spent doing a spot of shopping at various local stalls, ranging from candles to cosmetics, in the boxes at John Smith’s Stadium – not missing out on that Black Friday feeling!

It was then time to be seated for lunch and we were ushered into the beautifully decorated suite by our hosts for the afternoon. No, it wasn’t a local female broadcaster or a sporting success, we had the absolute pleasure of being hosted by the fabulous Globe Girls, an internationally celebrated drag act!!

The Town Foundation Ladies Lunch was filled with glitzy outfits, perfect wigs and killer high heels as the Globe Girls performed some fantastic routines throughout the day.

Throughout the day there was plenty of fundraising opportunities, including a raffle which left some very lucky ladies taking the top prizes of two live final tickets for ITV’s ‘The Voice’ and a full car valet from Audi.

Unfortunately, there were no winners on our table, but that didn’t stop us from dancing the rest of the afternoon away!

Now the glitter has settled and our achy feet have recovered, we have the absolute pleasure of sharing that the annual Town Foundation Ladies Lunch raised over £3,000!!

Thank you to everyone that helped to raise such a fantastic amount for such an important local cause. And a huge congratulations to Julie for organising what we can only describe as the best charity event we’ve ever been to!
