On Tuesday 14th July at the new Huddersfield Leisure Centre our Marketing Assistant, Johanna Green was presented with the Apprentice Ambassador of the Year Award from Kirklees Apprenticeship Hub.

Since commencing her Digital Marketing and Social Media Apprenticeship in November 2014, Johanna has been 100% committed to her apprenticeship displaying highly desirable attributes; focus, interest and passion and has attended extra courses where available to enhance her knowledge and skills further.

Having experienced a huge learning curve, Johanna has and continues to take on any challenge with enthusiasm and isn’t afraid to get stuck in to whatever task is required of her. She goes above and beyond and, as a small team where all hands are required on deck, she puts in the hours wherever necessary. She doesn’t view her apprenticeship as a 12 month placement for her to move on when complete – she views it as a realistic career opportunity and as such gets involved wherever and in whatever she can.

Johanna’s confidence has grown significantly, when she came on board she had little confidence in her abilities and of course her knowledge – now she is able to speak in front of business people about her apprenticeship and the business itself and is a regular on both the networking and speaker circuit having most recently spoke at the Leeds City Regions’ Digital Skills Event in Wakefield.

Johanna is a prime example of how an apprentice with the right support and mentoring can flourish and a real asset to the KC Communications team with a bright future ahead of her.

During the evening, Katrina Cliffe, founder of KC Communications also received a Certificate of Recognition for the businesses contribution to supporting apprenticeships.
