Appointed by the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce in November 2016, we were responsible for raising the profile of the 2017 Kirklees Business Conference in order to increase both the number of exhibitors and delegates.
Following an initial meeting, we developed a structured PR plan for both pre-and post event PR that identified:
- Key themes and press opportunities
- Publications to target across the Yorkshire business press
- Further editorial opportunities
During the 6-month campaign, we had constant communication and regular meetings with MYCCI to ensure that we stayed up to date on developments including new speakers and sponsors that we could promote. Overall, we delivered a number of press release that specifically targeted the Yorkshire business community to aid MYCCI in increasing the number of delegates as well as increase exhibitor, sponsor and speaker profiles.
On completion of the project, we achieved an AVE value of £2k with coverage achieved in the Yorkshire Post, Business Desk, Business Link as well as Kirklees’ business paper, Kirklees Business News. A significant outcome of the campaign was the delegate numbers increasing by 20% versus the previous year. Alongside this, exhibition stands were sold at a faster rate and the number of first time delegates increased.
