The team at KC Communications come from a variety of backgrounds, and each brings with them a unique set of skills, which ensure our clients gain access to some of the best people in the industry.

We’re passionate about what we do, and one of the unique things about us is that every member of the team, from the MD to the marketing assistant are constantly going through continuous professional development to ensure we provide the highest level of insight and expertise to the organisations we work with.

Katrina Cliffe MCIM

Managing Director

Katrina is the founder and Managing Director of KC Communications. Having started her career as an apprentice, Katrina has worked for a variety of organisations including world-renowned design agency ATTIK, whose roots originated in Huddersfield, along with heading up the marketing efforts for a global-facing tech business before going on to establish KC Communications.

Not one to shy away from continued professional development, Katrina has, throughout her 17-year marketing career, gained an Open University Certificate in Business, a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Diploma in Marketing Communications and has recently completed a CIM Diploma in Digital Marketing with a focus on Metrics & Analysis.

Laura Batchelor

Client Services Director

With 15 years’ agency experience working on accounts such as ASDA WalMart, The Car Shop Megastore, Manheim Auctions, Sheards Accountancy and insolvency specialists Poppleton and Appleby, Laura has spent the past two years with KC Communications in an account manager role, developing and implementing client marketing and PR strategies.

As newly-promoted Client Services Director, she also has additional aspects to her role, which has included overhauling the organisations staff recruitment, retention and ongoing employee development. This role sees her assume responsibility for managing the client services department supporting the ongoing development of the business, in particular focusing on internal talent management.

Kirstie Wilson

Account Manager

With a Professional Diploma in Direct and Digital Marketing from the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing, Kirstie is able to provide innovative ideas and has her finger on the pulse of the industry. Previous account management experience in telecoms, tech and retail has enabled Kirstie to work with a range of industries and organisation types, from multi-national banking corporations to local takeaways.

Kirstie has experience and skills across the full marketing mix. As an Account Manager, she maintains strong relationships with clients by becoming a part of their team. Kirstie works with her clients to create strategies that achieve the results needed to reach their business goals.

Heidi Hawkins

Account Executive

Heidi joins us after having graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a degree in Business Management. Before joining the team, Heidi worked as part of in-house marketing teams across different sectors including architectural, health and energy-efficiency.

Hollie Thornton

Junior Account Executive

Hollie joins the team alongside studying towards a Digital Marketing apprenticeship. Hollie has five years experience in the Photography industry, having secured a BA (Hons) Photography degree from the University of Huddersfield.

With Hollie’s creative flare, she brings a lot of fresh ideas to the team using her imaginative eye.

Lana Eardley

Admin & Finance Assistant

Lana joins us alongside her studies at the University of Huddersfield, bringing with her a breadth of knowledge in the accounts and admin sector, and will provide support to the team on a number of areas.

KC Communications creates a monthly report that helps to monitor the impact of their work - in my case, PR activity alone. Through the reporting of data and, more importantly, the analysis of that data, they pointed out that whilst traffic to my independently-created website was increasing (because of the PR activity), the bounce rate was high.

This highlighted a risk to the return on investment from PR activity. Because of this insight we were able to redirect their activity to refining my branding, messaging and website structure, before resuming focused PR activity.

As a client I feel reassured that KC Communications is invested in my long-term success and not activity for activity’s sake!
